Blu-ray Review: Workaholics – Seasons 1 & 2

There’s at least one in every office: that lazy, obnoxious individual who somehow manages to stay on the company payroll no matter how crass and moronic he/she truly is. Sadly, these people often find themselves getting promoted, declaring workplace holidays, and making the place of employment safe for the strangest of things. In the case of the Comedy Central series Workaholics, we get to see the daily misadventures of three insufferable donkey droppings who manage to stay afloat in the punchbowl of life. And at work, too.
Yes, they might just succeed in landing a promotion — despite being drug-crazed, completely ineffectual as functioning members of the human race. Sure, they very well could find a way to start up an absurd celebration at the office. Heck, they may even find a way to masturbate at work. Of course, what else would you expect from three nerds who work for a telemarketing agency? Created by and starring Mail Order Comedy members Blake Anderson, Adam DeVine, and Anders Holm (who play characters named Blake Henderson, Adam Demamp, and Anders Holmvik), Workaholics brings us all that and more.
If you like modern alternative comedy, this show will be right up your alley. For others, this’ll probably be a very loud, silly, and extremely madcap series that is best viewed in small doses. Personally, I found the humor to be far more tolerable than anything the likes of Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim could ever produce. Paramount brings us the first two seasons of this outrageous show on Blu-ray complete with a number of special features, including behind-the-scenes stuff, interviews with the cast, bloopers, deleted/alternate scenes, and even more items that you probably won’t dive into unless you’re a real gung-ho fan.
I think it best if you go out and rent it first before you consider buying it, kids.
