Mash-Ups
Mash-Ups/Bootlegs/Remixes/Whatever…
This page is devoted to all of the moronic mash-ups, bastardized bootlegs, and raucous remixes I’ve devised in the past.
Muse vs Boston: “Supermassive Black Feeling” – Download – Originally, I was going to go to bed. Then, I started working on a new mash-up. Next thing I knew, all that I had planned to do had gone out the window and I was experimenting with something else. The end result: a union between Muse’s “Supermassive Black Hole” and Boston’s “More Than A Feeling” that is just as pointless as the source materials, but just as groovy nonetheless.
Lady Gaga vs Human League: “Human Paparazzi” – Download – Another one of those “Hmm, this song kinda-sorta reminds me of…” moments. Whilst reviewing a TV series a while back, I heard the sounds of Human League’s “Human” — which I had not heard in some time. As the song was notorious for doing in the past, it stuck with me for several days…and then, the equally-dreaded Lady Gaga moved in to conquer. I used both the original version of “Human,” plus the EMP Disconnected Remix. The result is something of a love song for crazy stalker types.

Depeche Mode vs Kanye West: “Love Dream” – Download – Every time I heard Kanye West’s vocals for “Love Lockdown,” I always started humming the guitar riff from DM’s “Dream On.” Finally, I could take it no more and the two had to be mixed together. Hey, they had it coming in my opinion.
Depeche Mode vs Billy Idol: “Lillian’s Wedding” – Download – If you want a story for the track, imagine that little heartbreaker Lillian is getting married — and her father is feeling a bit ambivalent about letting his little girl go.

MGMT vs Judas Priest: “You Got Another Thing Comin’ Kids” – Download – This one doesn’t need any explanation, folks–this quote from The Star says it all:
Now that the seemingly indestructible “Kids” has been mashed up with David Bowie and covered, acoustic-style, by Ben Lee, we honestly thought we were done with it. But then along came another seemingly impossible combination, this time with the British metal anthem “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’,” and here we are writing about yet another productive subversion of the original.

Bob Marley vs U2: “So Much Trouble In One World” – Download – Dedicated with much angst to my father. Thank you for showing your true colors, Dennis.
Lady Gaga (ft. Colby O’Donis) vs Madonna: “Dance Another Day” – Download – Being extremely stressed-out sometimes has its advantages: here I was starting to chain-smoke over some really icky personal matters, and, seeking solace in music, managed to churn out this ultra-kickass mash of Madonna and Lady Gaga. It’s dance-tastic, kiddos!

Coldplay vs Rihanna – Viva Disturbia (Luigi’s Lounge Lizard Mix)
I wanted to make something…and, by the end of the day, this mixture of “Disturbia” an “Viva La Vida” had become just that: something. Mere words don’t do this one justice…with the exception of words like “bad“, “dumb“, “stupid“, etc.
Frontera vs Metallica – Enter the Rain
I’m not particularly impressed with the way this one turned out, but you can get a general feel of what I was going for.
Estelle vs Alcazar – An American In Paris
How could I resist with a title like that? Really!
Linkin Park vs Scissor Sisters vs The Supremes vs Jay-Z – Keep Me Comfortably Numb For The Encore
Another one that didn’t quite do it for me, but you can decide for yourself. The idea (if you want to call it that) came from the commercially-released “Encore/Numb” mash. I was originally going to add U2 in here as well…it didn’t happen…maybe another time…
Cassie vs The Cure – Me And U In Bed
Hey, this one actually worked!
Mylo vs Coldplay vs Tommy Kirk vs Richard Burton – Mars Still Needs Women
Two variations of Coldplay’s “Talk” mixed in with the sounds of Mylo’s “Mars Needs Women”. It was working so well, I included some snipets from Richard Burton reading “War Of The Worlds” and soundbytes from Larry Buchanan’s immortal B-Movie masterpiece, Mars Needs Women.
